On Wednesday (13/11), Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (KOMINFO) officially inaugurated six Certification Authorities (CA), where PrivyID is the first one to become the Non-Government Institution Certified Certificate Authority. Other CAs that were also inaugurated are Balai Sertifikasi Elektronik of BSSN, Peruri, Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi, Vida, and DigiSign.
The inauguration event was attended by 300 guests that come from various background. More than just a regular inauguration ceremony, the event was also created to raise awareness about the benefits of using certified electronic signature among the audience.
The event was opened with a keynote speech delivered by Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, KOMINFO’s Directory General of IT Application. It was then continued with a case study presentation delivered by Budi Prasetyo, Bank Mandiri’s VP Digital Banking . “Bank Mandiri has long implemented digital signature technology within our group’s services. We partnered with PrivyID to enable our customers to buy stocks online through Mandiri Sekuritas, apply for business capital through Bukalapak, and most recently apply for credit card online through our microsite”, he explained. Afterwards, all six CAs were given an opportunity to present their solutions on stage. Each CAs offer their own unique proposition that could cater to all sort of necessities.
